Daniel Owen are proud to be representing a leading Housing Association in the Hertfordshire area who are looking for a brand new Estates Services Manager to join their team covering Estate Facilities works within the Hertfordshire Area.

They are looking for an experienced Estates Services Manager working within Property Services who has covered Estate Facilities works. You will have a background in providing estate services to residents, managing work-forces and contracts to deliver these services. You will be managing contractors, busy operational workloads and supporting teams to perform well. You will work closely with the operational teams and customer contact services to oversee delivery of agreed standards and high performing estate services for the residents.

Duties:

  • Take charge of the Estate Service Department which includes cleaning, grounds maintenance, bulk refuse, gardening service, up-cycling, water maintenance, roof gardens, sanitary services, bin cleaning, recycling and arboreal services.
  • Be responsible for managing the operational estate services team as well as the external contractors.
  • Monitor internal & contractor costs and the quality of services. Assist with works and costs to ensure the right services are specified and achieved for residents.
  • Oversee the management of all external and communal estate services to the residents properties.
  • Provide training to colleagues to better provide services to residents.
  • Take ownership for fleet and associated procurement.

Key Knowledge:

  • You are a strong people manager, understanding the significance of leadership as well as management.
  • A strong working knowledge and understanding of the relevant legislative and regulation to deliver a safe, effective and quality service including writing new strategy elements and team plans.
  • Good practical knowledge and experience of cleaning, grounds maintenance and estate services.
  • A clear understanding of health & safety in the workplace and best practice.
  • The ability to manage, maintain and procure new machinery and equipment.
  • Experience of liaising effectively with different teams.
  • A proactive approach to utilisation to build good neighbourhood service.
