OFCI managers from an Electrical background will enjoy working for a well-established M&E Contractor on a brand-new project Data Centre project from cradle to grave in Amsterdam. In this role you will play a critical role in ensuring the successful completion and operation of a brand new data centre project in The Netherlands.
Established early in last century, this well-respected MEP Contractor have been given a huge amount of investment to revive their European business and have had a lot of success over recent months, now looking to grow a delivery team for the region. This is the perfect opportunity for a European based candidate with strong Data Centre experience to hit the ground running in a senior position delivering projects for Blue-Chip organisations and become an industry recognised specialist.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operational Facilities Management: Supervise the design, planning, and implementation of all operational facilities within the data centre, including power distribution, cooling systems, fire protection, security, and access controls.
- Compliance Oversight: Ensure all construction activities adhere to local building codes, safety regulations, environmental standards, and other legal requirements. Coordinate with regulatory bodies to secure necessary permits and approvals.
- Infrastructure Coordination: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including architects, engineers, contractors, and vendors, to manage the seamless integration of critical infrastructure components.
- Risk Mitigation: Identify potential risks and challenges during the construction phase and develop proactive measures to address them effectively.
- Quality Assurance: Establish and maintain rigorous quality control processes to uphold the highest standards throughout the construction process.
- Budget and Resource Management: Monitor project expenditures and resource allocation to optimize costs and ensure efficient resource utilization.
- Project Documentation: Keep detailed records of project progress, change orders, and other relevant documentation to facilitate seamless handovers and future maintenance.
- Health, Safety, and Environmental Compliance: Implement and oversee safety protocols to safeguard the well-being of construction personnel and ensure environmentally responsible practices.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Degree qualification within Electrical Engineering
- Data Centre experience is required
- Experience within a similar role
- Comprehensive understanding of operational facilities management, compliance, and infrastructure integration within the data centre sector.
- In-depth knowledge of local building codes, safety regulations, and environmental standards.
- Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and a track record of successful project delivery.
