As part of a multi-disciplinary professional team the Architect will support the Architectural team in the design development of building design across all sectors. They will also provide design leadership on projects and support the wider business on design related matters, where appropriate. Their key focus will be to lead the design and integration of fabric, structure, climate, and safety systems across a range of modular projects within the Portakabin Sales business unit. Role Details
  • Salary: Up to £45,000 per annum depending on experience
  • Role based: York, YO32 9PT
  • Contract type: Permanent
  • Annual leave: 25 plus bank holidays
Role Responsibilities
  • Preparing building designs and highly detailed models using various software (e.g., Revit, AutoCAD, Lumion) applications from concept through to completion with a focus on user needs, site & building surveys, and regulatory requirements.
  • Communicate design decisions to the wider project team effectively.
  • Preparing specifications, scopes of works and technically appraise (where applicable) construction packages of work.
  • Choosing the materials to be used and specifying the requirements for the project via scopes of works, specifications, and design drawings.
  • Monitoring health and safety in design and preparing designers risk assessments and residual risk registers.

  • Is a Chartered Architect (RIBA)
  • Has demonstrable experience of successfully managing a project from inception through to completion
  • Has the ability to develop appropriate architectural design solutions under their own initiative and articulate the concepts/proposals effectively
  • Is an excellent communicator who can engage confidently with clients, contractors, sub-contractors, consultants, and suppliers
  • Is skilled in Revit & AutoCAD
