We're looking for a Flooding and Drainage Design Engineer to join our Highway Drainage team based in Exeter. Location: Exeter, with some site visits required and hybrid working available Contract: Permanent, Full-time (Part-time available if desired, just let us know)

Salary: £36k - £40k + 26 days of annual leave + Benefits

Responsibilities

As a Drainage Design Engineer, you'll provide technical design solutions to agreed standards, programme, and budget on various projects across the UK, within Kier Highways Design Solutions. Current contracts include Local Authority, National Highways Area & Regional Contracts particularly Major Projects A66 NTP and M6 Emergency Laybys.

Your day to day will include:

  • Identifying the root cause of the client's issue. Analysis of existing data and requesting further surveys to build a clear understanding of the problem
  • Developing solutions through various modelling and calculation exercises to prove the validity of any proposals
  • Producing high quality deliverables, such as drainage reports and flood risk assessments, to enable the project to be built and meet its objectives



    Who are we looking for?

    This role, of Drainage Design Engineer, is great for you if you have:
  • Proven experience of progressing technically sound designs that meet design standards and address the objectives of the project
  • Experience of successfully delivering in accordance with quality management systems and client processes
  • Experience of working for various clients including National Highways and Local Authorities
