We have an excellent opportunity for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our North West. commercial team based out of Manchester. The Senior Q.S will be involved in the full lifecycle of a £70M build project located in Lancaster. Joining during the PCSA phase and seeing the project through to completion the SQS will be working as part of a project commercial team feeding into the regional commercial manager.



Location: Manchester, Greater Manchester / Lancaster - travel to site, office and working from home as required.

Contract: Permanent, full time, Monday to Friday



Responsibilities

As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you'll be working within the Commercial team in supporting them in building projects that support and develop the local communities.

Your day to day will include:

  • Advising on financial feasibility of projects at early stages
  • Organising the division of projects into component work packages for procurement.
  • Assessing returns from sub-contractors and awarding work packages.
  • Negotiating with sub-contractor supply chain to achieve best value.
  • Monitoring and measuring actual expenditure against budgeted project expenditure in the form of CVR (Cost Value Reconciliation Reports)
  • Assess, review, and mitigate commercial and contractual risks and implement Kier Groups policies for risk management
  • Prepare and present monthly cost reports, value works executed by Sub-Contractors and certify interim and final payments.


  • Who are we looking for?

    This role of Senior Quantity Sureyor is great for you if you can demonstrate:

  • Proven experience in managing the commercials over the full project lifecycle in education, commercial, leisure, healthcare, Ministry of Defence, and mixed-use projects
  • Experience in both JCT & NEC forms of contracts
  • Experience in the commercial management of high value build projects.
