About the role:
Reporting to our Senior Indirect Tax Manager you will assist with the day-to-day management of international VAT and customs compliance, efficiency and controls related to indirect tax and providing indirect tax advice to the business in relation to new transactions and projects.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Aggregating data required to be submitted for numerous VAT registrations worldwide
- Ensuring VAT returns, supplementary declarations, EC sales lists filed on time
- Ensure all payments are made on time
- Maintaining a schedule of VAT touchpoints in each jurisdiction and monitoring the impact of any changes
- Reconciliation and review of nominal ledgers relating to VAT transactions
- Ensuring that all Import and Export documentation requirements are met
- Maintaining required records for indirect tax in line with legislative requirements
- Providing ad-hoc indirect tax advice to colleagues in the business where required
- Projects ad-hoc as required to ensure compliance in all areas indirect tax related
- Managing administration
About you - what you will need:
In this role you will be working closely with all international and UK business departments and so strong communication and organisation skills are essential to meet varying and overlapping deadlines. You will also need to have:
- Strong academic background - degree educated in a finance, accounting or similar discipline
- Proven experience in international VAT transactions
- Excellent IT skills including advanced Excel knowledge (Pivot tables, V-look ups etc)
- Outlook, Word and PowerPoint
- The ability to explain financial information clearly
- Strong communication and analytical skills
- Advanced knowledge of SAP
- A strong team player with the ability to be flexible to support the demands of the business during the financial year
