Position: Credit Controller
Location: Birmingham
Employment Type: Full-time perm
Responsibilities:
- Managing the end-to-end credit control process, including timely and accurate invoicing, payment collections, and account reconciliations.
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients to ensure prompt payment and resolve any billing queries or disputes.
- Monitoring and reviewing customer credit limits and payment terms, implementing necessary actions to minimise credit risk.
- Conducting credit checks on new customers and assessing creditworthiness.
- Chasing overdue payments and maintaining regular communication with clients to ensure prompt resolution of outstanding invoices.
- Producing regular reports and analysis on cash flow, debtors, and credit control performance.
- Collaborating with internal stakeholders, including the finance team and account managers, to resolve customer issues and optimise cash flow management.
- Providing recommendations for process improvements to enhance the credit control function.
Requirements:
- Previous experience as a Credit Controller, ideally within the property or real estate sector is desired.
- Strong knowledge of credit control principles, practices, and relevant legislation.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build rapport and effectively handle difficult conversations.
- Proficiency in using accounting software and MS Office Suite.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritise workload, meet deadlines, and work independently.
- Knowledge of property management systems and industry-specific regulations is advantageous.
