Summary
Gleeson Homes are recruiting for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to assist the Regional Commercial team to deliver the Group Business plan, Commercial objectives, budgets and future growth requirements by being involved in commercial activities; supporting the implementation, control and reporting of all development/build-related expenditure.

Main Responsibilities
- To support in the management, control and reporting of build costs, cash flows and budget financial information as per Group policies and processes.
- Provide assistance to the Commercial team in quantity surveying administration, policy, procedure compliance, and reporting and control aspects aiming to continuously add value and to help the delivery of all commercial objectives for the region.
- Ensure Group policies and processes are followed and reported fully on all development/build-related expenditure adding value to the wider business and delivering the commercial objectives of the region.
- Support in managing the workshop partnership with Sub-Contractors, Housing Associations and external partners to ensure that all contractual terms are met and ensure that all orders are place, managed and settled as per Group policies and processes.
- Assist in the process of determining and agreeing site start programmes and timescales and assist with commercial matters for the new and existing developments.
- Work closely with regional and Group commercial team to help the control of material budget information and expenditure for each site as per the commercial and procurement approval process.
- Partake and assist in Commercial site visits, including current, new and potential sites to assist the construction management process.
- Assist in the preparation of key status reports and updates on all KPIs relating to the Commercial function.
- Ensure that the company maximises its compliance with Group product, specification and deals.
- Any other duties as directed by Regional Quantity Surveyor
To ensure all the above is completed strictly in accordance to the timetable and that key dates are all met.
Ideal Candidate
- A relevant qualification or basic understand of the role of Quantity Surveying
- A basic understanding of the financial implications of the methods and sequences of build
- Basic Finance/Commercial awareness and Technical knowledge
- Basic knowledge of the Construction Industry
- Basic knowledge of commercial and financial management systems and controls
- Awareness of codes of practice that impact on commercial matters e.g. Building Regulations, NHBC requirements, HSE etc
- Knowledge of Construction Design Management Regulations
