Role purpose / summary:

The overall aim of this role is to drive continual improvement and environmental best practise within the wider Expanded business unit. This is a national role covering Structures and Piling external and internal projects. Responsibilities will comprise of a mixture of site-based activities, provide advice to site teams as well as regular reporting of business unit level performance. Imperative to this role will also be support of work winning activities through preparation of tender responses and gathering of case studies / best practise examples.

Responsibilities:

  • Be responsible for the development and deliver of targeted environmental strategies across Expanded Structures and Piling (internal & external)
  • Advise of legislative compliance, providing both business and project support accordingly
  • Maintain positive involvement with regulatory authorises, being actively involved in any necessary correspondence.
  • Provide a monthly report using traditional performance metrics, together with facilitating conversations on non-traditional measures of resilience.
  • Facilitate conversations on innovative and industry leading solutions, driving a continuous improvement of project standards.
  • Lead environmental investigations of significant events, both positive and negative, in an appreciative manner, generating reports as necessary
  • Continually use the principles and tools of Next Gear to enable consistency in the resilience of environmental management throughout the business.
  • Support and mentor junior members of the team to ensure personal as well as professional development.
  • Assist with delivery and development of targeted environmental training and awareness sessions!
  • Be responsible for input into tender returns.

Qualifications:

  • Degree qualified in relevant discipline (Environmental, Geography, Civil Engineering)
  • Experience within Structures / Piling
  • Masters - desirable
  • Flexibility to travel weekly basis
  • Strong stakeholder management skills
