Location: London, hybrid working and flexible hours

Salary: £60,000 £80,000 + Car Allowance

Job Description

The Resolute Group is working in partnership with a leading European design and engineering Consultancy.

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Principal Structural Engineer to join the building division focusing on large data centre projects across Europe.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and oversee the design and detailing of civil engineering schemes, with a focus on structural integrity and safety. Ensure that designs meet regulatory and industry standards.
  • Conduct feasibility studies to assess the viability and potential challenges of proposed projects. Provide recommendations and solutions to address any identified issues.
  • Conduct site inspections to assess existing structures, identify potential issues, and ensure compliance with design specifications. Perform structural surveys to evaluate the condition of buildings and infrastructure.
  • Generate comprehensive reports documenting project progress, findings from feasibility studies, inspection results, and recommendations for corrective actions. Present findings to clients and stakeholders.
  • Manage and lead project teams to ensure projects are completed within established budgets, timelines, and quality standards. Monitor progress, allocate resources, and make necessary adjustments to meet project goals.
  • Work closely with relevant authorities and agencies to secure necessary permits and approvals for projects. Ensure compliance with local building codes and regulations.
  • Maintain regular communication with clients to provide project updates, address concerns, and manage client expectations.
  • Collaborate with other professionals such as architects, mechanical and electrical engineers, and construction teams to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Provide guidance and supervision to junior engineers and less experienced team members. Offer training and mentorship to develop their skills and knowledge.

Requirements for the role:

  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering
  • Chartered or near Chartered with the Institutions of Civil Engineers
  • Knowledge of UK Codes of Practice
  • Experience obtaining approvals including S104, S38 and S278
  • Excellent communication skills
