My client is a well-established specialist steelwork fabricator and supplier of Structural and Architectural Steelwork including Steel framed Buildings, General Building Steels, Balustrades, Staircases, Handrails and secondary steelwork, from design through to fabrication, site delivery and erection.

They have increased in size two-fold in the last two years and are looking for an experienced steelwork Estimator to expand their team and cope with the influx of enquiries.

This is an excellent opportunity for a current estimator to move up the ladder, joining a successful family business and to make an impact on the company's growth and continued development.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare accurate and competitive estimates for Structural and Architectural Steelwork projects, considering material costs, labor, equipment, and other relevant factors.
  • Manage the entire bid process, including reviewing project specifications, drawings, and other documents to develop comprehensive and competitive bids.
  • Work closely with the sales, design, and project management teams to ensure alignment and accuracy in project estimates.
  • Stay informed about market trends, industry pricing, and competitor activities to maintain a competitive edge.
  • Communicate with clients to understand project requirements, address inquiries, and provide necessary information during the bid process.
  • Participate in negotiations with suppliers and subcontractors to secure favourable terms and pricing.
  • Maintain accurate records of estimates, bids, and related documents, ensuring compliance with company standards and procedures.

Qualifications and/or Experience Required

  • Structural & architectural estimating experience essential.
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in steelwork estimating.
  • Strong planning, organisation and time management skills
  • Ability to prioritise work under pressure whilst meeting tight deadlines
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel & Word.
  • Additional training will be given to the right candidate
  • Full driving licence
