Commercial Manager - New Zealand

Excellent opportunity to relocate to New Zealand to be part of the delivery team on a £1billion project.

Location: - New Zealand - Auckland

Salary: £100,000 - £125,000 basic + Car or Allowance + Relocation Package

(House is provided for 1 month after this you will be expected to rent or buy your own home as this is a permanent role. Looking for someone willing to fully relocate to New Zealand)

Role Description

The Resolute Group has been retained by a Main Contractor in New Zealand to support the mobilisation of a £1billion construction project as part of the development plan for Auckland.

With the Commercial Director already in place, the programme will have 4x Commercial Managers under them managing the various packages of work. With the ground works already underway the build programme starts in Quarter 2 in 2024 with this role and the other Commercial Managers needing to be in place by April 2024. Then a 5-year build programme broken down into Structures, Facades and Fit-Out with each package valued between £200m - £400m

As the Main contractor on site, you need to have come from a Tier 1 / Main Contractor background and worked on New build major construction projects. Ideally valued £100m+ or your package valued at £100m+ as part of a larger scheme. Main reason for this is that you will not only be leading the financial control and reporting for your package but also managing a team of Quantity Surveyors.

The New Zealand supply chain is small and very collaborative so having someone that can build strong relationships with both the clients and suppliers is key. Working in partnership and having a collaborative supply chain is key to a successful delivery.

Full relocation is available for you and your family from getting your initial accommodation, support with Schooling and the moving of your possessions into the country. This is not an Ex-pat package as ther expectations is that you will be a permanent member of the team and progress in to Senior Commercial Manager / Commercial Director in the future.

Qualifications / Experience

  • Degree - Minimum requirement to be able to obtain a visa, Ideally in Quantity Surveying or Construction based subject such as Quantity Surveying or Construction Management.
  • Major project experience - Having at least 1x major project £50M+ delivered by you as the No1 commercial manager on site.
  • Must be able to fully relocate to New Zealand as the first project is 5 years in duration and they want people that want to be part of the culture.
