General Foreman - HS2

Excellent opportunity to join HS2 and support the delivery of the Viaduct section.

Location: Birmingham (£12,500 lodging allowance for applicants 55 miles from site)

Salary: £60,000 basic + Car Allowance + Lodging allowance (If applicable) + Package

Role Description:

The Resolute Group is working in partnership with a key client working on HS2, supporting one of the various Viaduct installations across the route. This role requires experience the foreman to have experience in projects that include complex lifts, ideally precast concrete segments, (if you have done that kind of work please ensure you have included it on your CV)

Job Summary

The General Foreman is responsible for the overall supervision and coordination of the site operations for the viaduct installation as part of HS2. This includes planning, organising, and directing all site activities for your section as you will be working alongside other General Foreman who will be managing their section of works.

Driving the project forward with a focus on major rigging and lifts as the viaduct is made up of precast concrete segments. Each needs to be lifted into place and secured against the programme of work. There are various challenges with this project as it covers different terrains and environments making crane access difficult at times.

This role needs someone with experience in major lifts within the Infrastructure sector, used to large concrete segments or pre-cast slab rigging and lifting. Previous experience in the following sectors would be advantageous:

  • Rail - Bridges or Slab installation
  • Highways - Bridge lifts
  • Environmental - Coastal defences with concrete precast block installation.
  • Hinckley Point -Working on the many lifting operations

Day-to-day duties will vary but could include:

  • Toolbox talks for the site team and Sub-Contractors on-site
  • Man Management - controlling the internal and external site staff.
  • Ensures that all work is completed to the required quality standards
  • Ensuring all Risk assessments and RAMS are followed and completed correctly.
  • Identifies and resolves potential problems
  • Communicate with all stakeholders, including clients, subcontractors, and project managers
  • Work with the Site Agents on the creation and delivery of the lift programme
  • Maintains accurate project documentation.
