Fire Risk Assessor Job in London / Remote Working

Fire Risk Assessor job in London / Remote Working, for a growing fire and asset management department of a successful multidisciplinary consultancy. The role will be conducting fire risk assessments, including HAZID Assessments for Building Safety Cases across London and The South East and further afield across England. The role offers a salary of £50,000 - £60,000 + Travel + Healthcare + 24 Days Holiday.

The consultancy offers a multitude of services including project management, building surveying, cost consultancy, design management and Fire Safety/fire engineering. Specialising in residential, affordable housing, major regeneration, new build and remedial projects for Housing Associations, Local Authorities and Private Developers. Made up of circa 100 employees and 4 offices, they are continuing to grow with a strong pipeline of work, with the fire team being one of their fastest growing teams.

Role & Responsibilities

- Evaluating fire safety measures, conducting risk assessments, and providing recommendations to mitigate fire hazards in buildings, carrying out Fire Risk Assessments 1-4

- Compartmentation surveys

- Conduct comprehensive fire risk assessments, perform thorough on-site inspections and assessments of buildings, facilities, and processes to identify potential fire hazards, assess fire risks, and evaluate the effectiveness of existing fire safety measures

- Review and evaluate fire protection systems, including fire detection and alarm systems, fire suppression systems, emergency lighting, evacuation plans

- Identify fire safety deficiencies or areas where fire safety measures are inadequate, ineffective, or non-compliant

- Provide clear and concise recommendations for corrective actions, improvements, and necessary upgrades to enhance fire safety

- Generate comprehensive reports based on fire risk assessments, outlining findings, observations, and recommendations

- Communicate technical information effectively to clients, stakeholders, and regulatory authorities

- Stay updated with industry relevant regulations and standards

- Liaise with clients, architects, engineers, and other relevant stakeholders to gather information, understand project requirements, and provide guidance on fire safety measures

- Effectively communicate technical concepts and recommendations to non-technical individuals

- Act as a subject matter expert on fire risk assessments and fire safety measures.

Required Skills & Experience

- Strong knowledge of Approval Document B, regulations, and standards

- Ideally MIFIREE or working towards

- Experienced in Fire Risk Assessments 1-4 within the residential sector (other sectors would be advantageous)

- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously

- Proficient in using relevant software and tools for fire risk assessments and reporting.
