JOB DESCRIPTION:

SMSTS Groundworks Contracts Manager required for a large nationwide business that specialises in commercial projects. Our client is looking for experienced and hardworking contracts manager to join a project based in Coventry.

This contract will be ongoing, with hours being 7:30 - 4:30, Monday-Friday and the option to work overtime at the weekends.

Daily responsibilities will include:

    • Liaison with client's project managers and site managers
    • Working closely with Operations department and groundworks site teams
    • Helping to develop growth of groundworks division & building teams
    • Tracking project financials & preparing applications, liaising with our QS across multiple projects
    • Preparation of project documentation and H&S paperwork
    • Procurement of construction materials and plant, managing suppliers & subcontractors
    • Staff development of future Site Managers & Contracts Managers
    • Management of labour agencies
    • Ensuring health and safety compliance; equipment & procedures
    • Review of incoming tender information to determine project suitability, working alongside our estimating team

    Candidate Requirements:

    • Experience working within a similar role - contract management, project management with groundworks background
    • Client facing experience
    • Experience in procurement
    • Project and resourcing planning experience, involving software applications
    • Passion to drive the growth of the groundworks division
    • Strong communicator (verbal & written)
    • Adaptable, motivated & can operate independently
    • Full driving license
    • PC literate

Requirements for the role

  • A valid SMSTS Cert
  • CSCS Card
  • Industrial experience
  • The ability to perform physical manual labour
  • Own PPE - High vis vest, safety glasses, gloves, dust mask and hard hat can be provided by Daniel Owen
  • Own tools NOT required
