Gleeson Logistics are currently partnering with an established Manufacturing & Engineering business based in the West Midlands in their search for an Indirect Buyer.

Job Title: Indirect Buyer

  • Work with Facilities Manager to ensure maintenance tasks are properly scheduled, actioned and logged.
  • Manage all Manufacturing tooling, consumables, work wear, planned and reactive maintenance.
  • Organise all plant and machinery maintenance contracts and ad-hoc maintenance orders, including the tracking of TPM sheets.
  • Liaise with the consumable service providers and manage the service agreements.
  • Organise and co-ordinate all statutory inspections.
  • Co-ordinate all on-site and off-site (customers' sites) hire purchases.
  • Manage all service contracts such as cleaning, waste management and welfare.
  • Provide support for in/out bound transportation.
  • Support the business as required on CapEx projects.
  • Obtain quotes in line with procedures and issue purchase orders for indirect/direct consumables and indirect services.
  • Manage supplier relationships. Negotiate with suppliers in respect of costs, discounts, long-term agreements, and terms and conditions.
  • Accurate placement of Purchase Orders, expedite to ensure on time in full delivery with no invoice queries.
  • Identify and realise areas for cost downs to budget and lead time.
  • Expediting externally & internally within the business to assist operational functions in delivering goods and services on time in full.
  • Obtain Risk Assessment and Method Statements (RAMS) from subcontractors as required.
  • Support with the management of subcontractors on site as required.
  • Update databases and registers to stay on track and report on progress.
  • Deal with any invoice queries.
  • Log Indirect spend against budget and report KPI's weekly / monthly.
  • Prepare and manage annual budgets tightly.
  • Adhoc duties as required.

Ideal Candidate :

  • 3 years minimum experience in Procurement & Manufacturing related roles ? Ability to liaise and co-operate with other departments
  • Proficient in using MS Office - Outlook, Word, Power Point, Excel ? Able to work on own initiative and with minimum supervision
  • Self-motivated
  • Good communicator
  • Conversant with Health, Safety & Environmental risk assessments & method statements
  • Understanding of facilities management
  • Conversant with any statutory terms & conditions of contract,
  • IT/Computer Literate
