Paddington Construction is part of the Ardmore group and are currently Looking for experienced Senior HSQE Manager to be based at our workshop in Brimsdown, Enfield.

We have an offsite workshop that covers Stone, Joinery, Welding/Fabrication and Assembly. We are working on some very exciting projects, and we build a lot off site, ready to be installed.

This person will deputise for the HSQE Director as required to deal with a major incident, safety concern or other important meeting or matter when the HSQE Director is unavailable.

To provide advice and guidance on all health and safety team matters to factory management team based upon company policy and up to date legislation, as well as sample HSQE documentation.

To carry out corporate audits and inspections in the factory to benchmark health and safety performance and set in place processes for improvement.

Lead the audit process to maintain ISO 14001, 45001 and 9001 accreditations.


Main Responsibilities:

The Senior HSQE Manager will act as the resident HSQE Manager for the Paddington factory where he is based, and will discharge the following duties:

  • Act as the HSQE champion and co-ordinator, with the aim of assisting factory managers to discharge their duties in respect of health and safety.
  • Provide practical and realistic monitoring, good practice advice and ensure basic legal compliance.
  • Liaise with the Corporate HSQE Department to seek advice or organise internal or external training.
  • Manage daily site inductions and the review of induction forms and competence.
  • Walk each factory daily and bring any unsafe condition to the attention of the relevant manager for immediate attention. The Senior HSQE Manager is authorised and expected to immediately suspend any unsafe work practices. If this is done the General Manager must be notified.
  • During the site tours correct any unsafe acts seen and operate the disciplinary procedure as appropriate.
  • Manage key performance indicators for factory including near misses, lost time accidents, safe observations, reportable incidents and waste management.
  • Manage Risk assessments for factories and drive improvements.
  • Update Plans and Fire and Emergency Plan on a regular basis. Ensure that all roles identified in the plans are filled by appropriately trained and competent people and bring to the attention of the General Manager any deficiencies identified.
  • Participating in and chairing HSQE related meetings, investigations, and incidents.
  • Support continuous improvement activities withing the company.


We're Looking For:

  • NVQ Level 5 in H&S/NVQ Level 6 Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety Practice
  • NEBOSH National certificate
  • Fire Certificate
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in the factory environment with proven knowledge od factory processes.
  • First Aid at Work
