**We are currently working with an architectural practice in the Southampton area seeking a project architect to take a lead role in the running projects and team leading **

This firm, situated in the heart of the city, specialises in both residential and commercial projects within the local area. Their goal is to provide top-notch service to clients throughout every stage of a project, offering innovative yet practical designs. With expansion plans in mind, they prioritize maintaining a supportive atmosphere for their staff. Their initial projects involve developing housing and converting commercial spaces into residential units. Currently facing a heavy workload, they are on the lookout for a project architect to assist the Managing Director in project management duties.

Role & Responsibilities

-Analyse Planning Policy, NPPF, and Permitted Development rights to develop effective strategies that optimize project outcomes and potentials -Prepare, submit, and oversee Planning Applications, ensuring compliance with regulations -Create Design & Access Statements, Schedules of Works, Tender Reports, and other necessary documentation -Assist in designing and implementing internal office processes and documentation systems -Take charge of architectural project work, leading its design and execution -Coordinate an internal team comprising Part 1, Part 2, Architectural Technologists, and subconsultants -Engage with clients and participate in all visits and meetings essential for project delivery -Fulfil Contract Administration responsibilities as required.

Required Skills & Experience

  • ARB qualified Architect
  • Have a minimum of 7 years of post-qualification experience
  • Track record of working on UK based residential projects is essential
  • Experience in conversion of commercial to residential projects would be beneficial
  • Ability to run multiple projects simultaneously
  • Experience in leading Junior team members
  • Skilled AutoCAD is essential
  • Ability to use Revit is beneficial as the practice is planning on introducing the software next year but full training will be provided
  • Possess excellent communication skills both spoken and written.
