Job Title: Senior Customs Agent
Salary: £40- £50,000
Responsibilities:
- Provide technical customs advice and support the business regarding all UK and Irish Customs issues
- Assist in the approval and ongoing maintenance of special customs authorisations
- Customs Border Location
- Temporary Storage
- Conduct comprehensive audits of UK entities.
- Collaborate with the Customs Manager to develop internal customs compliance processes, identify risks, and propose solutions.
- Continuously evaluate and enhance processes for greater efficiency.
- Maintain and create detailed process notes and audit procedures for business operations.
- Monitor and reconcile the deferment account on a monthly basis for the business.
- Oversee the setup and maintenance of customs information in the Master Data.
- Lead preparations for HMRC inquiries and support the Customs Manager with information requests and meetings.
- Take a proactive role in customs projects to ensure compliance and optimise customs positions.
- Stay updated on relevant customs legislation and HMRC guidance, assess business changes, mitigate risks, and identify opportunities, making recommendations to the business
- Understand and clearly communicate technical guidance internally and externally at all levels, including senior leadership.
- Collaborate with EU Group colleagues on projects involving UK or Irish customs.
