We are looking for an Electrician to join our skilled team of Operatives in our Hire Division based in Manchester. In this role you will refurbish and fit out the complete range of Portakabin buildings to the highest possible standards, specialising in electrical work. As well as aftersales, rectification and problem-solving work.
Role Details
- Hourly rate: £16.05 p/h, £32,549.40 per annum
- Opportunity to earn an additional hourly rate between £0.28 - £4.73 p/h, £567.84 - £9,592.44 per annum
- Role based: Manchester, OL2 6DX
- Contract type: Permanent
- Annual leave: 24 days of annual leave plus bank holidays
Role Responsibilities
* Apply lean principles and techniques to help and contribute to your team delivering and exceeding our KPI targets.
* Understand and apply the electrical principles and works associated with the design, building, installation and maintenance of electrical equipment and systems.
* Ensure compliance relevant Health and Safety practices and all applicable legislation to encourage and maintain zero harm environment and culture.
- Design and install electrical systems incorporating all types of electrical materials, ensuring that all installations meet current regulations.
* Ensure that all buildings are tested to the required standards, including the completion of appropriate documentation/certification where applicable.

As applicable assume responsibility as the qualified supervisor and therefore oversee all testing requirements for the Hire Centre.

Conduct fault finding and undertake rectifications of existing systems both on and off site.

Assist where required in the general fitting out and refurbishment of Portakabin buildings both on and off site.

Ensure reconditioned fittings and materials are utilised as a priority without compromising quality.

To support on supplementary process based tasks where required, that may not be directly electrical related. Including the installation and terminations of building works.

Our Ideal Candidate
* We are looking for someone who has:
- City & Guilds 2380/2381 (IEE Wiring Regs - 18th Edition) or JIB Card - Electrician (Must include IEE Wiring Regs - 18th Edition)
- Recognised Electrical Apprenticeship Scheme / Indentures (or AM2) & City and Guilds 2360 or NVQ Level 3 electrical instillation
- City & Guilds 2395 Inspection, Testing and Certification is desirable but not essential
- Establishes good working relationships with both customers and staff
- A willingness to learn and embrace the skills of the modular industry
- Good organisational and planning skills
- Full driving licence
- GCSE Maths and English at Grade 4 or above (or equivalent grade)
