A Principal Consultant is required to provide expert environmental management, permitting, and compliance services across diverse projects. This role involves leading consultancy projects, advising clients on environmental regulations, and ensuring compliance with permitting requirements. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing client relationships, mentoring team members, and overseeing the technical and financial aspects of projects.
This position requires a strong understanding of UK environmental legislation, including the Environmental Permitting Regulations and other key policies. The consultant will conduct compliance audits, prepare permit applications, liaise with regulatory bodies, and deliver training on environmental best practices. They will also contribute to business development, supporting key client relationships and identifying new opportunities.
Candidates should have a degree in environmental science, engineering, or a related field, with at least seven years of experience in environmental consulting. Knowledge of land contamination risk management, hazardous liquid storage facilities, and environmental risk assessments is highly desirable. Strong communication, problem-solving, and organisational skills are essential, along with proficiency in Microsoft applications.
