A Purchasing Assistant Job is now available with an established art consultancy in London! The ideal candidate will have excellent time management skills and experience purchasing large volumes of luxury items. This is a fixed term contract for 9 months, paying up to £35,000 pro rata.

This successful art consultancy has over three decades of experience working with artists, interior designers, architects, galleries, printers, and framers to create outstanding art collections for luxury hospitality and residential projects.

Due to an upcoming busy period of work, the are looking for a Purchasing Assistant to join their team on a 9-month fixed-term contract basis. The ideal candidate will have strong organisational skills, a keen eye for detail and must be comfortable juggling multiple tasks while working as part of a small team.

Role & Responsibilities

- Assisting with purchasing, including paying suppliers, sending invoices to accounts and following up on payments
- Raising ad-hoc purchase orders and compiling documents such as terms and conditions, license agreements and order specifications
- Preparing detailed order specifications for large quantities of commissioned paintings, prints, frames and sculptures
- Supporting in financial reporting and filing, including monthly credit card reconciliations
- Liaising with framers, artists, galleries and other suppliers to ensure all purchase documents are correct and invoices are paid on time
- Overseeing the purchasing and replenishment of printing supplies
- Providing ad-hoc office purchasing support to the internal team.

Required Skills & Experience

- Proven experience in purchasing large volumes of bespoke design items
- Ability to demonstrate a high standard of numeracy
- Experience in the fine art/creative sector highly beneficial
- Approachable and personable with strong communication skills
- Outstanding problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of artwork production processes would be advantageous
- MS Office (Excel required to a minimum intermediate standard)
- Mac fluent with good knowledge of Google Workspace, Microsoft Teams and online communication and file sharing
- Knowledge of Adobe Suite beneficial but not essential.

What you get back

- Salary: £30,000 - £35,000
