It is seeking a highly experienced Director of Construction to lead and oversee all construction management operations from the client's perspective, driving excellence across its growing portfolio of data center projects.
Position Summary:
The Director of Construction will provide executive leadership and strategic direction for all construction activities across multiple, large-scale data center projects. This role will oversee construction teams, establish construction standards, and act as the senior interface between the company, contractors, vendors, and key stakeholders. The ideal candidate will bring extensive expertise in data center infrastructure construction, exceptional leadership skills, and a proven track record of delivering complex projects on time, within budget, and to the highest quality and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and direct all construction operations for the company's portfolio of data center development projects, ensuring alignment with business goals and client expectations.
Develop and implement strategic construction management policies, procedures, and best practices tailored to the data center industry.
Oversee and mentor construction management teams, promoting a culture of high performance, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Collaborate closely with senior leadership, design teams, contractors, and external partners to drive project delivery excellence.
Manage project budgets, schedules, risk assessments, and quality control processes at an enterprise level.
Lead contractor selection, negotiation, and contract management to secure optimal performance and compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
Represent the company in high-level meetings, providing construction status updates, risk mitigation strategies, and technical expertise to executive stakeholders.
Ensure compliance with all relevant building codes, environmental regulations, and data center-specific construction standards.
Champion innovation and adoption of advanced construction technologies and methodologies to enhance project delivery.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
Minimum of 12 years of progressive construction leadership experience, with a significant focus on data center projects or similar critical infrastructure.
Demonstrated ability to lead complex, multi-site construction programs with large teams and budgets.
Extensive knowledge of data center systems including electrical, mechanical, fire protection, and structural requirements.
Exceptional leadership, strategic planning, communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
Proficient in advanced project management tools and software.
Experience working in a fast-paced, high-growth environment with a proven record of driving organizational success.
Ability to influence and inspire teams and stakeholders at all levels.
