The organization is seeking an experienced Senior Construction Manager with a strong background in data center projects to lead and oversee construction management activities from the client's perspective.
Position Summary:
The Senior Construction Manager will take a leadership role in managing all aspects of construction for complex data center projects on behalf of the client. This position will oversee multiple projects simultaneously, provide strategic guidance, and act as the senior liaison between contractors, vendors, and internal teams. The successful candidate will leverage extensive experience in data center construction and infrastructure to ensure projects are executed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide senior-level leadership and oversight for the construction phase of multiple data center development projects.
Drive collaboration and alignment between design teams, contractors, engineers, and stakeholders.
Develop and enforce project schedules, budgets, and quality control processes, ensuring compliance with client expectations and industry best practices.
Lead risk management efforts, identifying potential challenges and implementing mitigation strategies.
Manage contractor selection, procurement processes, contract administration, and enforce strict safety and regulatory compliance.
Conduct regular project review meetings, providing detailed progress reports and insights to senior management.
Ensure construction activities comply with all applicable codes, environmental regulations, and data center standards.
Support commissioning and closeout processes, resolving construction-related issues efficiently.
Mentor and guide junior construction management staff, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related discipline.
Minimum of 8 years' experience in construction management, with significant involvement in data center projects.
Demonstrated success managing large-scale, complex data center or critical infrastructure builds.
In-depth knowledge of data center systems including electrical, mechanical, fire protection, and structural components.
Strong leadership, communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
Proficiency with project management software and tools.
Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced, high-growth company environment.
Proven ability to lead teams and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
