Are you looking for a logistics role in one of the UK's most secure and complex environments.

As part of a high-profile infrastructure programme at Heathrow Airport, our organisation - working in partnership with a leading construction business - is looking for an experienced Logistics Manager to take the lead on the coordination of people, plant, and materials across a busy, live airport environment.

This is a key role that will ensure the safe, efficient, and timely movement of resources in and out of site - working closely with project teams, subcontractors, airport authorities, and security personnel.

Role and responsibilities:

Daily Site Logistics

Oversees the day-to-day movement of plant, materials, and equipment within secure construction zones.

Plans and schedules deliveries, ensuring minimal disruption to airport operations and full compliance with security protocols.

Coordinates site access, laydown areas, storage, and waste removal in line with programme and safety requirements.

Stakeholder Liaison

Works closely with Heathrow's operational and logistics teams, the construction partner, and subcontractors to align on access, permits, and movement plans.

Acts as the main point of contact for logistics-related matters, keeping communications clear and proactive.

Attends planning and coordination meetings to provide input on sequencing, constraints, and logistics solutions.

Compliance and Safety

Ensures all logistics activity is carried out in accordance with airport safety, security, and airside regulations.

Supports security compliance by working alongside the Airport Security Coordinator and ensuring logistics operations are properly authorised.

Maintains traffic management plans and ensures routes and deliveries adhere to airside and landside restrictions.

Planning and Reporting

Develops short-term and lookahead logistics plans in line with construction sequencing.

Maintains accurate records of deliveries, vehicle movements, access permits, and logistics KPIs.

Supports the project team with regular reporting, risk identification, and solutions.

The ideal candidate will have:

Proven experience in a logistics management role on major infrastructure or aviation projects.

Strong understanding of logistics challenges in secure or live operational environments, ideally within airports.

Knowledge of Heathrow logistics procedures, airside access, and relevant security protocols (preferred).

Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple work fronts simultaneously.

Strong communicator, able to work under pressure and build trust across teams.

Familiarity with permit systems, traffic management planning, and environmental controls.

Must be eligible to pass security clearance checks required for Heathrow airside access.
