Accountant - Excellence for Modern Construction (CEMC)

This role is to provide strong financial controls and reporting to the Europe Hub.

What will the role look like?

  • Reporting Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet and Cashflow performance along with submitting budget / forecasts to Group
  • Analysing business performance and providing explanations for variances to budget & forecast
  • Take responsibility for balance sheet accounts, FAR & stock listings ensuring reconciliations are undertaken on a monthly basis
  • Weekly cash forecasting, driving opportunities to maximise cash and manage working capital
  • Internal review ensuring Stock and WIP is reflected accurately in the system and on reports
  • Proactively identifying and improving finance and business processes to ensure fast, accurate management information is available
  • Keeping up to date with Accounting Standards and implementing new accounting treatments where necessary
  • Understanding business risks and strategies
  • Prepare and review the supporting schedules for year end audit
  • Preparation of VAT & CIS returns
  • Two direct report - Accounts Clerks

Experience Required:

Essential:

  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent);
  • Strong communication and influencing skills. An ability to communicate effectively at all levels and to build and maintain productive working relationships;
  • Proven experience of working in a deadline driven environment with the ability to prioritise workload;
  • Experience of developing and improving processes;
  • Strong financial and analytical skills;
  • Experience of managing budgets, forecasts and monthly reporting;
  • Excellent IT skills - particularly Excel and PowerPoint with Power BI an advantage.

Desirable:

  • Experience using SAP, COINs, Tagetik and Power BI;
  • Experience working within a large manufacturing company.
