JOB DESCRIPTION:

Accounts Assistance required for a large nationwide construction company that specialises in commercial projects. Our client is looking for experienced and hardworking accounts assistant to join their office based in Bromsgrove.

This accounts assistant contract will be on a permanent basis, with hours being 7:30am-4:30pm, Monday-Friday.

Daily responsibilities will include:

  • Assist in the preparation of financial statements, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
  • Conduct detailed analysis of financial data to identify trends, variances, and areas for improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with HMRC regulations and assist in the preparation of tax returns and related documentation.
  • Support the month end and year end closing processes, including reconciliations and journal entries.
  • Participate in the preparation of budgets and forecasts, providing accurate and timely financial information.
  • Assist in the maintenance of accurate and up-to-date financial records, including accounts payable and accounts receivable.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure proper financial controls and procedures are followed.
  • Aid in the preparation of financial reports and presentations for management and stakeholders.
  • Stay up-to-date with changes in accounting regulations and best practices.

Requirements for the role

  • AAT preferred but not essential
  • Experience within an accounts assistance or in a similar role
  • Strong knowledge of profit and loss analysis
  • Good use of Excel
