Position - Accounts Assistant

Location - Within 1 hours' commute of Manchester

Duration - Initially a 12 month fixed term contract to start ASAP

The opportunity:

Kier Northern is looking to recruit an Exception Handler to be based from the Manchester office. Reporting to the Boost Manager, your role will be dealing with site invoices & system queries. Ideally you'll have a background in construction, and have previous working experience of Oracle and/or Sap. You must be confident in travelling between each Northern office (Liverpool, Leeds and Manchester), working on site and partnering with shared service teams.

Responsibilities:
  • Requesting Purchase Order Increases/New Purchase Orders through the Shared Service Centre
  • Running hold reports
  • Analysing reports
  • Receipt goods in Oracle eBS by entering GRNs against purchase orders in Oracle eBS
  • Liaise with Site Managers, procurement department, FSSC and suppliers to resolve queries efficiently
  • Promote discipline in good receiving and accurate recording of deliveries by sites
  • Identify common and reoccurring issues and escalate to management
  • Travel to site and partner with site staff, as well as shared service teams

You should have experience in the following:

  • Essential - working knowledge and proficiency in Oracle and/or Sap
  • Essential - strong Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word
  • Desirable - working knowledge of construction and different types of materials
  • Purchase and subcontract ledger
  • Desirable- knowledge of Hired Plant
  • Statement reconciliation
  • Familiar with good receipting
  • Dealing with complex invoices with the knowledge to resolve
  • Matching process
  • Accurate and confident in written and verbal communication skills
  • Be a good communicator, able to work efficiently, as a team member
  • Clean driving license
