Do you have an engineering background and prefer the hands-on delivery of a project rather than being tied up with the contractual side? If so, we have the perfect position for you.
Showcasing your prior experience of roads/highways projects, you will be working on a contract basis for a multi-purpose development in East London. We are really keen to hear from individuals who have extensive experience in this area, especially if you have previously worked on projects with associated works such as drainage and utilities ground retention.
You will be working for a tier 2 principal contractor and this particular development has 4 years left to run on the programme. As the Site Agent, you will be responsible for managing the delivery of the particular scope of works and working with the experienced and skilled site team that they have brought together for this programme. Here you will be able to utilise your leadership and engineering abilities but you will also need to have confidence in your knowledge in order to keep the programme and team on track.
As the freelance Site Engineer, your main duties will include:
*Planning and programming of the works
*Monitoring the budget and compiling cost reports
*Management of site team
*Overseeing resources including plant , materials and manpower
*Attend client and project meetings
*Oversee daily administration, quality, audits, permits and records
*Approval of Method statements and risk assessments
*Ensuring Health and Safety compliance
Please note that this position is for an experienced professional with construction delivery experience, particularly with roads / highways and drainage knowledge. This is a key management position and not an entry level role for individuals who have previously managed property developments.
If you would like to apply for this position, you will also need to demonstrate the following:
*Extensive highways experience, particularly with roads, drainage and utilities ground retention delivery
*A proven record of delivering similar projects successfully as a Site Agent
*Self-motivated, disciplined and passionate
*HND or Degree in Civil Engineering
*CSCS essential and SMSTS would be highly advantageous
