Kier work as part of a framework for Western Power Distribution to ensure its customers have power in their homes, businesses, schools and hospitals. We are an essential member of the team mainly working on reactive and planned maintenance.
We employ many teams across the region, whose role it is to either respond to emergencies to dig down in the street or on private property to give our clients access to repair their asset, or to lay new mains cables as part of their ongoing planned maintenance programme. Our responsibility begins with planning the works and finishes with us clearing site having back it back to the same or better condition than when we arrived, making sure that customers are happy and informed throughout every stage.
About the role
As Agent, you will have constant contact and liaison wit Clients Team Managers to ensure we manage the work instructed to us in a professional, efficient and commercially aware manner. You will continually encourage the Client to increase the value of work issued to us and to coordinate and manage contractors/ direct labour to ensure all Health & Safety processes are adhered too and work is delivered to the correct specification and quality.
You will be liaising with WPD staff every day managing pre-planned programmed works and daily instant reports to faults. We will need you to be commercially aware and ensure invoices submitted to the client are correct ensuring all opportunity has been maximised.
In this role as Agent you will be responsible for the planning and programming of weekly jobs with the client's network teams and WPD Streetworks. You will undertake weekly and safety site audits, deliver tool box talks and daily briefings along with being responsible for authorising all weekly timesheets.
What do we need from you?
In order to be successful for the role, you will need to hold a Full UK Driving Licence, hold knowledge of the electricity network, NRSWA and TMA. You will hold excellent communication skills as you confidently coordinate with the local authority and TMA enforcement officers.
This is a varied role where working in a fast pace environment is the norm so you will be able to prioritise workload and take ownership of individual schemes.
