We are currently recruiting Agents/Construction Managers for the Western Rail Renewal project. This is ongoing work across locations such as Oxford, Reading, Swindon, and Gloucester to name a few. The work involves civils, earthworks and structures along the rail track so ideally we need Agents who have had civils & structures experience within a rail environment. Our client is only accepting degree qualified Agents/Construction Managers for this project.

Main duties will include:

* Monitor the progress of construction, refurbishment works and ensure that the development, design construction, validation and financial targets are met and effect remedial action where required, with respect to construction sub packages.
* Ensure that the technical standards are maintained in all aspects of project works, in order that safe and successful project implementation and future reliability is achieved.
* Participate in and monitor the planning and progress of works in relation to timeline and budget.
* Assist with forecasting the overall construction resources and key skills necessary for allocated projects in sufficient time to ensure that they can be provided.
* Evaluate the quality and technical accuracy of tenders and make recommendations to obtain the best available commercial award for the Company.
* Discharge safety responsibilities in relation to CDM Regulations, Health and Safety legislation, Company procedures including development of the project Safety Plan.
* Maintain a continuous communication with contractors and client in the development and implementation of projects to ensure a uniformity of purpose and common targets.
* Coordinate the engineering activities of sub-contractors.
* Participate in national initiatives to ensure consistent governance of engineering projects.
* Perform duties as directed by senior management from time to time.

Skills/Experience:

* Experience managing the delivery of a rail project for a principal contractor on Network Rail infrastructure is highly advantageous

* Experience in civils, earthworks and structures within a rail project is essential

* A Degree, Bachelors or MSc in a relevant engineering qualification
* Post graduate qualification an advantage
