AGENT / PROJECT MANAGER - Rail

This is an excellent opportunity if you are looking for a freelance contract in which you can demonstrate your impressive rail knowledge and tender capabilities. We are keen to hear from you if you are a highly competent and experience professional who has prior experience of rail projects of £10m value.
You will be an Agent or PM with extensive experience on both road and rail construction projects and be a confident in assisting with the overall construction forecast for resources and skills. Ideally, you will have previously worked on the tender stage of projects as this is for 6 months freelance assignment working on a £5-10m rail tender, but if successful, the duration will be extended.
If you have also have previous experience of managing delivery of Track/OLE installations on Network Rail infrastructure, this will be highly advantageous to your application.
For this particular freelance position, your initial duties will include:
*Liaising with prospective clients to secure tenders
*Assist with forecasting the overall construction resources and key skills necessary for allocated projects in sufficient time to ensure that they can be provided.
*Evaluate the quality and technical accuracy of tenders and make recommendations to obtain the best available commercial award for the Company.
*Discharge safety responsibilities in relation to CDM Regulations, Health and Safety legislation, Company procedures including development of the project Safety Plan
*Maintain a continuous communication with contractors and client in the development and implementation of projects to ensure a uniformity of purpose and common targets.
*Coordinate the engineering activities of sub-contractors.
*Participate in national initiatives to ensure consistent governance of engineering projects.
*Perform duties as directed by senior management from time to time
*Formulating tender price and completing submission
*Tender stage negotiation
This is a perfect role in which your experience and knowledge of the sector will mean that you are a highly valued member of the tender team and could lead to further work if successful.
You will also need to demonstrate that you possess the following requirements:
*Experience in new rail projects up to £10m ideally at tender stage is essential
*The right candidate will have worked on rail and road construction projects including highway structures
*Experience managing the delivery of Track/OLE installation for a principal contractor on Network Rail infrastructure will also be highly advantageous
*Degree in Civil Engineering
*Post graduate qualification an advantage
*Chartered (or equivalent) member of an appropriate professional institution
