Do you want to work on one of the most exciting and innovative major civils projects in the UK?
We have been instructed to recruit for a freelance Appointed Person for one of the biggest civils projects in the South West, the Hinkley Point C. The sections of works you will be undertaking include earthworks, civil & structural engineering works and new road construction so previous experience within these areas would be highly advantageous.
This is being managed by two international companies who are working in partnership so this is a prime opportunity for you to work with two established organisations who span multiple sectors including rail, power, water, building and natural resources. Not only are they working on the Hinkley Point project but also have a number of projects which will also give you scope for progression and the possibility of seeking permanent employment if you so desire.
Act as the Site Responsible Persons representative (focal point) for all technical issues relating to lifting and moving loads. Ensuring safe systems of work for all activities associated with lifting and moving loads to ensure that all lifting operations can be carried out efficiently without risk to safety and in accordance with UK Statutory Regulations Ensure that all necessary regimes, standards, processes and procedures for the activities associated with lifting and moving of loads are established and are being suitably applied to provide assurance that all lifting operations are: Properly planned by competent people, Risk assessed and Appropriately Supervised.
You will also assist in forecasting of lift plans including labour and crane schedules. Liaising with suppliers / buyers for the procurement of plant
To be successful in this role, it is anticipated that you will hold:
- Cranes Appointed person
- Qualified Banksman / Slinger
- NVQ Level 3 in site supervision (or equivalent)
- Excellent understanding of IT systems
- Good interpersonal skills
- Full UK driving licence
