Package: During first year of apprenticeship, £7.70 per hour

Scope:
This is an opportunity to join an exciting new business within the Berkeley Group at an early stage of the project. This strategic new venture is being established to produce volumetric modules on behalf of Berkeley Group which are specifically designed and engineered for the residential housing sector to help create high performing, high quality and comfortable homes for people to enjoy living in. Employment will be on the basis of full time, permanent as part of Berkeley Modular.
As an apprentice you will join a cohort of exciting new talent being recruited into the business who will follow a fully-funded three year course of study to a Level 3 qualification. We have agreed a curriculum with our higher education training partner, North Kent College, who will deliver this new programme which has been configured to suit a business which intends to be at the forefront of volumetric modular housing supply. The course of study will comprise the following subject matter:
Year 1 - Digital Design / CAD / IT Literacy / Manufacturing & Construction Principles
Year 2 - BIM / Engineering / Commercial / Production
Year 3 - Computer Aided Engineering / Engineering / Projects / Manufacturing
Our aspiration is to create exciting new career opportunities in the offsite housing sector. Accordingly, part of the curriculum for the apprenticeship programme will involve a 14 week placement at Dudley College to learn the basics of digital design and its importance in manufacturing.
Development Objectives:
As well as following the formal course of study, the plan is to ensure that all apprentices spend some time working across the various functions in the business as part of a familiarisation process. This work-based part of the programme is intended to give exposure to all of the key disciplines in the Berkeley Modular business (as referred below), in order to provide an insight into future career path options:

Skills and Qualifications:
- Minimum entry age to be 18 years old by 31 August 2019
- Minimum of 5no GCSEs at Level 5 or above
- Specifically GCSE Level 6 in Mathematics, English and a Science
- Work experience
