We are looking for an Architectural Technician and Estimator to join the team in Hamilton, ML3 0EJ. Responsible for providing a product design, estimating and draughting service to the Scottish business you will play a key role in the order winning and project delivery for both Hire & Sales projects.
If you have strong knowledge of Scottish Building Regulations and experience interpreting technical drawings using AutoCad this role could be for you.
Role Details
- Salary: £28,000 - £34,000
- Role based: Hamilton, ML3 0EJ
- Contract type: Permanent
- Annual leave: 25 days plus bank holidays
Role Responsibilities
* Work within the commercial team to design building layouts that meet the clients' needs, providing both modular and traditional construction details as and when required.
* Produce design information, drawings and templates for tender and design competitions using AutoCAD, Revit, Sketch-up and Photoshop.
* Liaise with the commercial team to ensure that the designs and estimates relating to their enquiries are dealt with promptly and accurately.
* Obtain competitive subcontract prices as necessary to assist in the preparation of quotations, tenders and estimates and advise/offer alternative layouts for consideration by (potential) customers.
* Submit Planning applications and Building Warrant submissions.
* Attend client and consultant meetings when required.
* Use the appropriate systems to communicate changes and updated information, to highlight potential issues with cost and delivery of projects.

Our Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone who has:
- Design skills and experience using AutoCAD
- Experience working within an architectural/building design environment
- An understanding of Scottish building regulations
- Ability to interpret building drawings in order to fulfil customer requirements
- A HND in Architectural Technology or relevant course
