Architectural Technician and Surveyor - £21-£27per hour - public sector x 1 (Nottingham) x1 (Retford) - 5 month contract - great opportunity for career development

You will have a great opportunity to work for a public sector organisation in the healthcare arena - initially a 5 month contract for an architectural technician/ surveying role. This is an excellent opportunity for you to grow your career in an exciting organisation as an architectural technician and surveyor.
Job Role
You will be responsible for the management and control of resources in line with procurement and delivery of major projects in estates department. You will be responsible for ensuring compliance to statutory requirement.
You will work with and control engineers and contractors in addition to the design teams. You will undertake work comprising major and minor capital and revenue funded projects, such as building and engineering.
As an experienced architectural technician and surveyor you will be responsible for professional duties inline with the management of projects in line with legislation and requirements and work towards improving standards. You will manage external professionals on the different projects assigned to you and a responsibility for auditing these teams and the design teams.
You will be responsible for technical accountability ensuring tasks are planned, managed and executed effectively. You will be responsible for practical research and investigation carried out effectively for new buildings and existing buildings for PPM and capital works.
You will oversee the design teams ensuring correct use and effective ability for staff using CAD, PPM documents and drawing relating to works such as electrical, mechanical and other specialist services.
This role is a 37.5 hour per week role working for the facilities and estates department either based in Retford or in Nottingham. This role is for an initial 5 month period but could lead to a more permanent role.
Person
You will be experienced in a similar role as an architectural technician and surveyor such as NHS or prisons etc. You will be confident in managing projects in a public sector environment.
You will be experienced in using packages such as:
- Estates systems
- AutoCAD
- Microsoft office products
- Support systems (legionella, asbestos etc.)
- Surveying equipment
You will be capable of dealing with colleagues at all levels including projects officers to Heads of departments.
For this role you will be required to drive between sites and spend time inspecting sites and plant rooms etc. and therefore can be physically demanding.
