This is a high-profile senior role, responsible for leading Breedon's commercial performance in South Wales and the South West of England. The Company's footprint has grown significantly in this region over recent years and this role will be key to the success of our growth and optimisation plans. You will apply effective management of your sales and distribution teams in the area, bringing energy, knowledge, and a can-do attitude to drive their performance.

This role will play an active part in the senior management of the region, developing and delivering on strategic plans to deliver regional and group level commercial goals effectively and profitably.

The role:

Working as part of Wales & South senior management team you will:

  • Ensure the success of the Commercial team in the area, through the retention of existing customers and the growth of new business and building a future pipeline of custom.

  • Lead and empower the internal and external sales teams; supporting, challenging and coaching to ensure customer needs are met. Developing their negotiating and customer service skills utilising management tools including performance management processes and employee development plans to meet the business KPI's and customer requirements.

  • Lead the area distribution team, ensuring the logistical performance of the fleet is maximised and the distribution plan is developed.

  • You will be required to quickly identify and assess issues and recommend or implement solutions to ensure effective performance, profitability and meet customer expectations.

  • Establish close and collaborative relationships, internally and externally. Building trusted internal relationships to partner key stakeholders including operations, technical, IT and finance to ensure the efficiency, effectiveness and profitability of the area are all maximised.

  • Play a key part in working strategically with senior management in the region to develop market, product, customer, sales, pricing, and distribution strategies.

  • Support and lead your team to analyse, report and understand customer, competitor and market dynamics, and opportunities.
