Role: Area Construction Manager


Location: Sandy, Bedfordshire

Kier Living Eastern are looking for an Area Construction Manager to be part of the Construction function at Management level contributing to the overall business unit, strategy and vision.

Responsibilities:
  • Work in conjunction with the Site Manager to ensure construction is consistently carried out to the highest quality.
  • Review progress on site on a regular basis and oversee/co-ordinate the production and monitoring of programmes.
  • Provide advice, guidance and support to the Project Team, both during the pre-construction and construction phases
  • Ensure labour, materials, relevant information and drawings are available in good time, with regular monitoring and control meetings to review.
  • Ensure Customer Journey procedure is followed by the project teams and quality and delivery times are in line with current QR forecast.
  • Review individuals progress against their Action Plan on a regular basis. Ensure the 1:1 process is implemented through your teams
  • With your Operations Director, plan and allocate appropriate people to each contract in line with prelims.
  • Produce and circulate Construction Phase Health and Safety Plan. Ensure regular review to maintain adherence to safety procedures

Finance:

  • Procurement: Be proactive in the selection of sub-contractors.
  • Responsible for reviewing and recording any delays or disruption to the project with the Site Team against programme.
  • Understand and influence the financial status of the project focused on the site file.
  • Produce the maximum return to the company of all developments without compromising contract, legal, quality or safety and customer service.
  • Review and manage working progress in line with QR programmes and sales status.

Key Skills and Qualifications:
  • You will be commercially aware with excellent organisational skills.
  • You must have excellent communication skills, be self-motivated and customer focussed.
  • You must be numerate with good IT Skills.
  • You should have leadership skills (control and management of employees) and a proven track record in successfully managing a project.
  • You should be ambitious with high aspirations.
  • You must hold a Driving Licence.
