The Area Manager role is an excellent opportunity to join a dynamic Highways Maintenance Team in Northamptonshire. Based out of the Highways Depot in Brixworth, the role will report to the Deputy Head of Operations and manage an established team to deliver Highways Maintenance across Area 2 (Daventry, West Northants and Kettering, North Northants).

The Area Manager must always ensure that highway maintenance is delivered in accordance with both KierWSP & our client's policies; plans; procedures and key performance targets. You will be required to manage direct employees and sub-contract resources and ensure works are programmed efficiently. A key part of your role is to manage budgets; financial profiling and governance for your area, the Area Manager will report monthly to the Deputy Head of Operations. All works must be delivered safely in accordance with KierWSP Health & Safety; quality and environmental procedures and the successful candidate must always lead by example and promote a culture of continuous improvement within the team.

As an Area manager you will be required to support the Emergency Response and Winter Maintenance as Duty Manager which requires night working during the winter (Rota 1 week in every 4) and stand by during the summer for emergency response.

What do we need from you to be successful in this role?

  • Educated to HNC in Civil Engineering or equivalent
  • Certificate in Site Safety Management
  • 12D T7 Lantra - Traffic Management
  • NRSWA Supervisor
  • Possess a relevant CSCS card
  • Driving licence
  • IOSH Managing Safety Certificate
