An exciting Area Manager opportunity has become available in Kier Highways Team based in Birmingham. The main purpose of this role is to provide management of the work and workforce of both internal and external operations, ensuring a high level of service is maintained throughout. Accountable for ensuring the corporate procedures are complied with, job packs are relevant and properly prepared, programmes of work are clear and adequate, and all relevant records are maintained. The key responsibilities include: Ensure the Kier values are enforced and that measures are put in place to promote these values, Responsibility and people management of members of the Carriageway and Footway Teams, Liaise with planning and TM to ensure jobs are planned right first time, cost effectively, Ensuring production of detailed works reports and Support Operations Manager and provide regular reports as required.
What do we need from you to be successful in this role?
- A minimum of 2 years highway operational experience
- A NVQ level 4 to 6 in construction or equivalent (level 6 desirable)
- Good knowledge of highway maintenance practices and associated traffic management requirements
- Understanding of New Roads and Street Works Act 1991
