Area Sales Manager Full time Flexible across West England & North Wales Role overview

We are currently seeking an Area Aggregates/Asphalt/Concrete (AAAC) Sales Manager based across our West England and North Wales area.

Reporting to the Commercial Manager the AAAC Sales Manager will manage, develop, support and coach the internal and external sales teams ensuring contact with customers is maximised from senior to site level. You will promote the full mix of products while targeting both volume and price growth of new and existing customers alongside compliance with the area pricing strategy leading to consistently achieving and exceeding our budget. You will carry out detailed reporting of market information including won/lost, tenders, customer and competitor information and accurate forecasting of projected volumes.

You will take a lead on major projects and develop strong relationships with key accounts making price not the driving factor in why people choose to order with Breedon. You will communicate frequently with your team holding regular meetings and 121s setting targets and improvement areas. Continual development of processes around sales/quotation management will be a focus area in this role.

The key responsibilities of this role are as follows:

  • Day to day management of Territory Sales Managers and Sales Offices
  • Price/Margin/Sales management - budget delivery
  • Targeting speedy resolution of invoice queries and aged debt
  • Accurate and meaningful reporting of market information
  • Develop strong relationships with key accounts
  • Regular meetings and 121s with sales team
  • Create an internal network with ability to influence outcomes in other areas of the business.

The core skills and competencies required are as follows:

  • Experience in managing a remote team
  • Experience in managing performance
  • Ability to interpret and understand financial data
  • Demonstrated history of consistently exceeding targets and delivering growth in a competitive market
  • Ability to work autonomously
  • Able to gather information and have confidence to make informed decisions
  • Experience within the industry or construction products sector preferred but not essential
