Area Sales Manager - South East England

Breedon are recruiting for an Area Sales Manager (RMX) based in the South East England area. You will develop, coach, challenge, exploit and maximise the RMX area commercial performance to support the wider strategic goals and financial performance of the business.

You will be responsible for managing the commercial performance of the ready mixed concrete business in the South East England area, in the pursuit of identified market & customer strategies, ensuring work winning and exceptional customer service, whilst also working with other functions such as operations, technical, IT and finance to ensure the efficiency, effectiveness and profitability of the area are all maximised.

The key responsibilities of the role are:

  • Support, challenge and coach the internal & external sales teams
  • Ensure customer relationship management plans are developed and maintained
  • Ensure the logistical performance of the fleet is maximised
  • Develop market, product, customer sales, pricing and distribution strategies
  • Ensure sales activity profile leverages our vertically integrated supply chain
  • Analyse and report on customer, competitor & market performance and opportunities
  • Support process improvements and development
  • Effective management of sales ledgers / avoidance of queries and aged debt
  • You will possess the following core skills and competencies:

  • Strong selling, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, along with sound strategic, budgetary and financial knowledge.
  • Experience of developing a performance culture in the sales & distribution office
  • An ability to gather information to allow informed decision making and problem solving, combined with an ability to operate under pressure and make controlled responses in difficult situations
