Asphalt and Aggregates Technician

Breedon is a leading construction materials group in Great Britain and Ireland, with around 1 billion tonnes of mineral Reserves and Resources.

We are seeking an enthusiastic, self-motivated individual to join our Technical team based at our Shap Materials Laboratory, covering our Asphalt and Aggregate Units in Cumbria.

The successful candidate will effectively carry out routine testing and inspections of Asphalt & Aggregates products to a consistently high standard.

Previous experience is not essential, as full training will be given for the job role. This position is a great opportunity to gain industry-recognised technical qualifications.

You will possess the following skills, experience, and qualities:

  • Friendly and personable
  • Good organisational skills and willingness to learn
  • High attention to detail with problem solving skills
  • A minimum of 5 GCSEs at grade C or above (or level 5 or above on the new grading scheme) including Maths, English and Science
  • Have a positive approach to Health & Safety
  • Be computer literate
  • Be self-motivated to complete tasks in a timely manner to a high standard
  • Have a can-do attitude
  • Comfortable dealing with a variety of people across our business
  • Hold a full clean driving license
