Role overview
Breedon are currently seeking an experienced Asphalt Planner based at Cloud Hill, Derby. Working within a team in a fast-paced environment you will be responsible for the planning of our asphalt plants making sure we are supplying from our most cost effective plant, scheduling and monitoring of customers' orders.
You must be able to meet customers' requirements whilst keeping them informed and maximising our commercial opportunities. Effective communication between both internal and external stake holders is paramount.
In this role you will be accountable for:
- Making our customers happy. Be proactive and innovative whilst ensuring you create an exceptional experience.
- You will be managing your plants making sure orders are fulfilled on time
- Liaise with your fellow planner to make sure we are planning achievable programmes at each plant.
- Ensure we are meeting the area budgets.
- Knowing your plants capacity and what trucks they are able to manage.
- Liaise regularly with production about their workload and how you want the day to run.
- Always aiming for First Call Resolution. Our customers' time is precious, so we need you to be effective and efficient.
- Being accountable for your actions. Take ownership of your customer, commit to solving their issue and be sure to set realistic expectations.
- Be confident in handling complaints.
- Communicate effectively between commercial, production and haulage partners.
- Schedule and reschedule orders whilst utilising haulage fleet effectively.
- To keep customers informed if we are running late or have a plant breakdown.

- Full compliance with Competition Act 1998.
Great communication skills are essential along with previous experience in the asphalt and aggregate product markets, and a familiarity of the local geography.
