Job Title: Assistant Accountant

Locations: This is an agile role where you will be based out of our Wymondham office with flexible home working.

Business Area: Kier Utilities

Contract: Full time, permanent 37.5 hours per week

We are Kier, one of the UK's leading construction and infrastructure services, working on contracts such as British Telecoms (BT) and Anglian Water.

We are now recruiting for an Assistant Accountant to join our Central Utilities team based in Wymondham.

Key Responsibilities:

In this exciting Assistant Accountant role, you'll be part of a supportive team responsible for allocating costs to operational Water, Energy and Telecoms contracts such as weekly payroll, employee expense claims, and other intercompany invoices. You'll prepare and post finance journals, maintain monthly reconciliations of balance sheet accounts, and assist in improving cost controls in the Utilities business.

What do we need from you?

Ideally, you'll be studying towards a CIMA/ACCA qualification or AAT level3 and above, and have demonstrable relevant work experience. We're also looking for a proactive individual with good attention to detail. You'll have excellent IT skills, be customer focused with an ability to work well under pressure.
