Position: Assistant Accountant

Location: County Cork

Salary: Neg DOE

Our client a professional services company specialising in Project Management, Commercial Management, Property Assessment, Asset Management and Consulting across the Construction, Infrastructure and Property sectors. The client has an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Accountant to join their growing team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Previous experience with Sage would be an advantage.
  • Previous experience with Wages calculations would be an advantage.
  • Be capable of managing daily banking requirements including invoice processing, creditor reconciliations & payments, bank reconciliations and general ad-hoc queries.
  • Management of daily and weekly margin reports and be capable of trouble shooting data.
  • Assist in the preparation and submission of tax and Vat returns.
  • Manage the companies' debtors and creditors.
  • Assisting in ad-hoc project requirements and depending on experience and progress, additional responsibilities may be given.

The Candidate,

  • 2 Years (+) Experience in a similar role, with significant accounts and commercial experience.
  • Ideally, you will be either qualified or in part be pursuing an ACCA / CPA / ACA accreditation.
  • Proven IT skills, proficiency with Excel/MS word/Office - essential.
  • An interest to learn and develop professionally.
  • Strong attention to detail and technical knowledge.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment & work to deadlines.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong organisational skills.
  • Excellent time-management skills.
  • Fluent written and spoken English is essential.
  • Highly motivated and capable of working on their initiative, being a team player.
