Location: Plymouth
Kier Western and Wales are looking for an Assistant Building Services Manager to join their team in Plymouth.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure designers risk assessments are completed, updated and issued to the CDM Co-ordinator.
- Ensure designs are appraised for their ability to be built safely and where possible, incorporate company best practice.
- Demonstrate awareness of Construction Design and Management designers and constructors requirements.
- Demonstrate awareness of site health and safety issues and SUSA
- Consider and investigate Value Engineering opportunities at all stages.
- Provide technical assistance in tendering, through qualitative responses to submission documents.
- Manage options, alternatives and design solutions throughout all the stages of design.
- Ensure that adequate M&E management and co-ordination is applied to all stages of design development including optioneering, value management and review of alternatives.
- Ensure relevant Company procedures/accounting procedures are adhered to at all times, (where applicable to role).
- Co-ordinate the design process at Tender and Construction phases.
- Review and appraise Tender information for Risk and Value Engineering.
- Ensure that the management of drawing/information issue and distribution systems for designers, and Construction Design Packages with specialist subcontractors is maintained.
- Produce, create, manage and maintain designer responsibility matrices.
- Identify and manage design deficiencies, discrepancies at all stages of design development and report to Design,Co-ordinate the design process at Tender and Construction phases.
- Review and appraise Tender information for Risk and Value Engineering.
