Location: Salford with agile/hybrid working available
Contract: Permanent, Full-time (Part-time hours available if desired, just let us know)
Salary: Up to £34k +26 days of annual leave + Benefits
Responsibilities
As an Assistant Design Engineer, you will produce highways designs, drawings, reports and supporting documentation in accordance with the brief, timescales and budgetary allocation.
Your day to day will include:
- Prepare preliminary and detailed designs in accordance with approved design procedures for local and national authorities
- Provide support to the Design Engineer and Senior Engineer within the design team on various duties such as assistance in the production of design schedules, Health, Safety and Welfare contract documentation and production of design drawings
- Assist in the delivery of technical and feasibility studies that satisfy client's technical specifications
- Assist in the assessment of potential risks, material and costs
- Comply with Kier's and Client's guidelines and regulations including permits, safety and deliver technical files and other technical documentation as required
This role of Assistant Design Engineer is great for you if you have:
- Highways design experience
- A detailed working knowledge of relevant principles, practices and procedures in Highway Design and good working knowledge of the CDM regulations
- Competency with Microsoft Office and AutoCAD and other design software packages such as PDS Sign or similar
