Location - Within 1 hours' commute of Liverpool/Manchester
Projects type - Building UK: Commercial, education, higher education, leisure, high rise residential, acute healthcare, advanced manufacturing
Size of projects - £2 million to £60 million
Kier Northern is looking to recruit an Assistant Design Manager to support the Design Manager and team across the Kier North-West region of Liverpool and Manchester.
Responsibilities:
- Coordination & liaison with the design team regarding design, drawing issues, program.
- Working with the design team and the Building Control Officers to clear all Building Control.
- Conditions to ensure certification.
- Coordination & liaison with the architects and local planning authority to clear any planning conditions.
- Providing relevant information to & instructing third party consultants to produce SAP/EPC ratings.
- Arranging geo-technical surveys to be carried out.
- Collecting & ensuring relevant information for the final Health & Safety File and O & M's is available.
- Understanding the employers requirements and other associated documents and drawing up qualification schedules.
- Working closely with surveyors to ensure costs are in budget.
- Arranging pre-completion testing (sound, acoustic)
- Providing relevant information to clients and CDM Coordinators for project handover.
- Attending client meetings, site meetings and subcontractor meetings where required.
Key Skills and Qualifications:
- Holds the relevant qualifications (Degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline)
- Working towards a professional qualification
- Proactive and can resolve issues as they occur
- Knowledge of full MS office suite including Project, Project Server and SharePoint
- Knowledge of operational/project delivery and site experience of major schemes
- High degree of commercial awareness
- Ability to build relationships and interact effectively with all stakeholders
- Have vision, commitment and enthusiasm for change
