Are you a recent graduate Environmental Advisor and looking to enhance your career in the Environmental and Carbon sectors? if so, this is the opportunity for you. You will be part of Expanded business, part of the Laing O'Rourke Group. Passionate about the environment and sustainability, you will be ably demonstrating and analysing reports and environmental data, reporting to project management and the business unit.

You will showcase your collaborative communication skills with internal stakeholders, supply-chain partners, and design consultants to obtain/improve environmental sustainability information.

The Expanded Group provides total capability in the early construction phases of major projects, providing an end-to-end solution or a bespoke choice of services. Backed by a central technical design and engineering resource, we can deliver the full range of demolition, site remediation, piling, precast concrete, post-tensioning and structures techniques.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Learn and operate carbon measurement software, both OneClick and eTool, becoming a 'superuser' to enable lifecycle carbon reporting for building structures, and supporting the production of Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) where appropriate
  • Attain competency in producing, preparing and reviewing carbon information, such as Environmental Product Declarations, to support projects as necessary and help to upskill others
  • Undertake routine environmental inspections, to ensure compliance with best practices, environmental legislation, relevant consents and project-specific requirements
  • Draft, collate and manage best practice examples and case studies to support knowledge transfer across the business
  • Adapt to client/project-specific reporting tools while maintaining the ability to identify areas of focus
  • Reporting environmental incidents and non-conformances and subsequent corrective actions

The Ideal Candidate

  • Clear ability to collect, process and critically analyse information and data and identify trends in performance
  • Is proficient in the use of MS Excel
  • Use and knowledge of the OneClick LCA platform and eTool platform (desirable)
  • Is proficient in data input to database systems
  • Produces accurate reports in a timely manner, is able to work to both hard and semi-structured deadlines
  • Has a good understanding of environmental management systems
  • Is sociable, able to work across different project teams
  • Has good organisational skills, coping with working across multiple workstreams
